either its a challenge that is providing you with the best possible opportunity for improvement or its a dead end downward spiral and the difference has nothing to do with the actual circumstance and everything to do with how you approach it. and really i don’t think its whether or not you want it to work out (although that would definitely help) because its more about how willing you are to do whats necessary to make it work, and those are two very different things. one is a want…. a dream… a wish… and “i’ll try.” the other is about commitment, and follow through, and grit, and drive, and determination. and sometimes a key part of that is the realization that the commitment to make it work might require a significant change in what you’re doing. notice i didn’t mention stubborn drive, it isn’t stubborn that gets you anywhere except that dead end (just a lot further down the road). its knowing that sometimes, most often times really, making it work involves changing what you are already doing. this is very logical of course, because something about what you’re doing now isn’t working, which is what got you to the place that you’re in now.
