life is but a dance

a dance. a delicate balance. and yet no wrong moves. moves that don’t flow, that don’t go, that are harder to follow, but move is wrong, some are just less effective then others. we dance with our lives, we dance within our minds, we dance in our world, and we dance in yours. we are dancing to more than one song at a time, we are moving to more than one rhythm. naturally, we will move better with some then we will with others. we can’t move just right in everything all the time. but i think we would all be suprised by how often all the songs line up just so and we are able to dance beautifully to all of them.

choosing the one we move to is really just about deciding which one to listen to, which one to turn up the volume on to drown out all the others. focus on it. get lost in movement of the music and it will show you the dance. the best dancing isn’t something that is done to music, instead its more like an extension of it. as much as the musicians know whats coming next, a focused dancer will know too. and yet there will be suprises, and those suprises will catch us off guard, but they are a fabulous respite from the boredom of predictability. let the suprises wake you up, let them fluster you a little. a suprise is an opportunity to change your pattern, go back to the dance, but go back to it with a new style, a new approach.
