Micro Entrepreneurism, Simple Living & Art
that is of course the question…
my immediate answer would always be adventure, but then comes the stumble of defining that answer. most days, i believe every day is an adventure of a sort. they aren’t balls to the wall amazing new experiences and places kind of adventures. instead they are more subtle… harder to notice, and easily missed. if i’m not looking for it i wouldn’t even begin to see it.
its easy to stop looking for it, because its easy to get caught up in the daily grind, because that tends to be what we are surrounded by. we live in a world that largely believes every day happiness is unattainable because it is attached to escape from our real lives. how bizarre.
i come back to my exploration of balance. we believe what we want to. we have the ability to find the adventure, or the happy in whatever we choose. but it almost takes training, or untraining. at times, it feels as though we are programmed and the moment we lose focus our minds revert back to default. and default is getting up, going through the motions, generally complaining about it, waiting for anything and anyone to distract us, and repeat.
this may sound incredibly silly but try
– doing things with the mindset that you like to and want to rather then you have to
– smiling (at yourself! and at others)
– being real in every moment. live your story.
– look people in the eye, treat everyone like a human, rather then like people doing a job
