being present

When people do things that we think are out of character, we tend to try and say that that’s not them. If its hurtful, we want to think they didn’t mean it. If its nice and thoughtful and we don’t like them, then they must be being manipulative. But just knowing that someone can be a different person then they’re being, doesn’t mean that they are that person in that moment. But it also doesn’t mean they are forever changed. We are who we are in each moment of our lives, as is everyone else. Its only natural to want to remember the good things (if we still believe in the goodness of the person), or to hang on to the bad things (if we don’t want to believe, if we’d rather hold a grudge). But truth be told, it really is just about this moment. The present. The one we’re in right now. Which is why, it really is never too late.

About mudly

Mud is main blog writer extraordinaire, picture guru, and the garden and adventure instigator. She loves to cook, but doesn’t much like following a recipe. She also loves typewriters, the color turquoise, and wearing tie dye with stripes. And she dorks out on while dreaming up and planning her next garden.
