organic inspiration

I’m not talking about organic vegetables (although I am a fan).

Organic inspiration is a natural process. Its lessons presented to us through our own sought out experiences. No one tells us anything. We are left to our own devices to see what we want to see and figure things out.

Its watching someone you know and love struggle with something and being able to see options and opportunities and paths they can take instead of the one they’re choosing and then recognizing your own similar struggle. And within it, your own inability to see that you have options. The lesson is your own. The struggle is your own. The options are yours as well.

If somebody had tried to tell you all of this, it would have been hard to really listen. It’s not that what they had to say is very different then the conclusion you came to, its more that you weren’t ready to hear it. You needed to come to it on your own, because that was the only way you were going to believe it.

It can be really hard to wait for people to find the organic inspiration you want them to. As a natural process, it takes time, and it can’t be manipulated (which is why we believe in it, and why it works). Sometimes lines of communication will stay open, other times they won’t, but that doesn’t mean that anybody has stopped paying attention. We tend to stay aware, even if we choose not to be directly involved. So don’t give up, because when the time comes that they are open to seeing things differently, you still want to be there to offer them an option. You never know, and it might take years, but you might turn out to be part of their organic inspiration.

I wish I had that little dude that sits on your shoulder and whispers in your ear (the good one-not the devil guy on the other side), because i would totally listen to him/her. And maybe even more so, I wish I could be the little dude on other people’s shoulder.

How are you so sure you don’t have that little guy? And that you aren’t that little guy for somebody else?
