a different NYE for me

I have a love and hate relationship with New Year’s.
I love the idea of looking back a year ago, and being surprised with where I am now.
I love the idea of looking forward, and seeing and believing and dreaming about what is possible for the next.
I hate that every New Year’s Eve I’ve ever had never seems to do any of those ideas justice.

So this year, rather then a NYE party, my mom and I are celebrating in – with good food, good drink, a warm fire, some yoga, perhaps some meditation, and some solid reflection on how far we’ve come in 2010. And to top it all off we will write a letter to ourselves to be put away and saved to open on NYE 2011 that includes are hopes and dreams for the coming year and thoughts on where we think we’ll be then.

I have a feeling I’m going to LOVE this New Year’s Eve.

About mudly

Mud is main blog writer extraordinaire, picture guru, and the garden and adventure instigator. She loves to cook, but doesn’t much like following a recipe. She also loves typewriters, the color turquoise, and wearing tie dye with stripes. And she dorks out on while dreaming up and planning her next garden.

I think I would like to spend NYE with you. We have been gearing up for the New year. Lots of changes have made Kurt and I really think about what direction we are heading, both bus. and personal. We started clearing the way for the vision we see for next year. Funny how the stroke of midnight can mean so many different things for so many different people. Well when the clock strikes 12 the Taulbee’s will be thinking of you and grateful for another year of having you in our lives!
